Every person in an organization is responsible for driving adherence to Inclusion principles, including CEOs.

Why is this relevant to me?

Ensuring that the company maintains its social responsibility wherever it does business is a key objective for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as is protecting and promoting the company's brand reputation. Diversity & Inclusion, and more recently the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) agenda, sit at the heart of this and form part of a CEO's obligations to shareholders, stakeholders and employees. As an example, 500 CEOs have joined the Valuable 500, making a commitment to action for disability inclusion. Despite this, more than 96% of organizations are discriminating online against people living with disabilities; their websites proving to be not inclusive for all.

What are the challenges?

Awareness is a major issue; if CEOs were aware of the issue, they would surely do something about it. Fundamentally, the buck stops with the CEO, and there can be no excuses for discriminating online. Digital assets should be managed like any other, and CEOs need consistent and easy to understand KPIs so that they can ensure ESG and D&I commitments are being met. They need an easy way to understand risk, whether it be potential legal action or risk to brand reputation, allowing them to allocate executive resources to oversee improvements to online inclusivity. This has been a major challenge up until now; reporting has been mainly technical and lacks independence with digital teams and suppliers reporting against KPIs they set themselves. Given this, it's not altogether surprising that many CEOs are kept in the dark.

How does AAAtraq help?

This starts with the CEO having their own immediately understandable, independent ‘Digital Inclusion KPI’, offering continuous clarity as to the severity of their ADA risk, and ongoing oversight of improvement. The CEO doesn't need to understand the technicalities to manage the risk and improve the organization's D&I position. AAAtraq's easy to understand Digital Inclusion Score underpins AAAtraq's ongoing ADA risk alerting and monitoring service.
